GCF International Symposium 2025 -Sustainability in Agriculture, Food, and Health

The Global Center for Food, Land and Water Resources (GCF) Research Faculty of Agriculture, in collaboration with Graduate School of Global Food Resources and the Graduate School of Health Sciences, and with the support of the India Japan Society for Science, Technology and Education and the Indian Scientist Association in Japan, held an international symposium in English on Monday, September 22, at the Small Auditorium of Hokkaido University Conference Hall.

Keynote and invited lectures included Mr. Nobutaka Mitsuda (AIST, National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology), Sunil KAUL (AIST), Renu WADHWA (AIST), Pratap Kumar PATI (Guru Nanak Dev University), Inhae KANG (Jeju University), Suresh KUMAR (CSIR Central Food Technological Research Institute), Soumya BASU (Cancer and Translational Research Center), Sakthi KUMAR (Toyo University), Somsak KRAMCHOTE (King Mongkut’s institute of technology ladkrabang), as well as Chandra NAYAK (University of Mysore), a GCF invited faculty member, and Minoru YOKOCHI (PWRI,Public Works Research Institute), a graduate of the Graduate School of International Food Resources gave lectures. And there are Oral presentations by young researchers.

Twenty-nine students, including graduate students from the Graduate School of Global Food Resources, Graduate School of Health Sciences, and Graduate School of Agriculture, gave poster presentations in English.

Two oral speakers received Outstanding Presentation Award, and three students received the Outstanding Poster Award based on evaluations by the speakers and faculty members of the Graduate School of International Food Resources.

Seventy people participated in the event. The Q&A session after the lectures sparked lively discussions, and the poster presentations were also very lively, making it a very meaningful opportunity for many participants. We would like to express our gratitude to the speakers, presenters, and all the participants.
