Summer Bus Travel for International Students Held in the Faculty of Agriculture

On Thursday, September 4, the School of Agriculture, Graduate School of Agriculture, and Research Faculty of Agriculture held the annual “International Student Summer Bus Travel.” This event has been held continuously for nearly 40 years with the aim of promoting interaction among international students and providing opportunities to learn about the diverse industries of Hokkaido.

This year, the trip was attended by 11 international students, 4 faculty and staff members, and 2 Japanese students who supported the group. In the morning, the group visited Amino Up Co., Ltd. in Kiyota Ward, Sapporo, where they learned about the production process and quality control efforts for health supplements in a factory surrounded by forested nature. In the afternoon, the group traveled to Kitahiroshima City to visit KUBOTA AGRI FRONT. There, they toured a facility operated by the Kubota Group that is dedicated to addressing global challenges in food, water, and environmental sustainability. Participants also had the opportunity to try out the agricultural management simulation game “AGRI QUEST.”

Through these visits, participants were able to experience Hokkaido’s unique natural environment and cutting-edge agricultural initiatives. The trip also fostered meaningful exchanges across nationalities and academic disciplines, making it a highly rewarding day for everyone involved.
