Department of Bioresource and Environmental Engineering
Technology for the environment – agriculture from the present to the future
Over 5000 years have passed since humans had learned a series of crop production technology such as cultivating the soil, planting seeds and harvesting. Though, it has caused serious environmental destruction everywhere in the world to charge a large amount of chemical fertilizer just for gain of productivity and to pump up groundwater. If we continue to produce in such a disorder, consequently productivity gets lower and deserted land which nothing would grow would be left for the future.
Now it’s time to engage in agriculture looking ahead of the future, when facing the crisis of deterioration of global environment. The department studies agriculture without environment load from a view of science and technology, to perform sustainable production in harmony with natural ecosystems.
