Summer Bus Travel for International Students Held in the Faculty of Agriculture

The Faculty of Agriculture, the Graduate School of Agriculture, and the Research Faculty of Agriculture held the International Student Study Tour on September 8. This annual event has been conducted for approximately 40 years with the aim of promoting interaction among international students and providing opportunities to experience Hokkaido’s diverse industries.

This year, nine international students, four faculty and staff members, and three Japanese students serving as supporters participated in the tour.

In the morning, the group visited LUPICIA BREWERY in Niseko, where they received an introduction to the beer production process and toured the brewery facilities. In the afternoon, the participants traveled to Yoichi and visited the Yoichi Fruit Orchard of Hokkaido University’s Field Science Center for Northern Biosphere. There, they learned about the differences between farm fruit and orchard fruit and took part in an apple-picking experience despite the rainy weather.

Through visits to both facilities, participants gained a deeper understanding of Hokkaido’s unique natural environment and innovative approaches to agriculture and food production. The tour also encouraged interaction among participants from different countries and academic backgrounds, making it a highly meaningful and rewarding experience for everyone involved.
