Dean Faculty of Agriculture and Dean Graduate School Global Food Resources and two Faculty members of Hokkaido University visited to Kasetsart University Faculty of Agriculture.
From December 10th to 12th, 2018, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and Dean of the Graduate School of Global Food Resources and other two faculty members of Hokkaido University (HU) visited Kasetsart University (KU) Faculty of Agriculture at Kamphaeng Saen to pay a courtesy visit to its Dean Pabhop Sinchayakul and some faculty members and visited the HU Liaison Office (LO) in Thailand on the same campus.
HU launched the LO in May 15th, 2018 and operates the LO as the base for university public relations, student exchange and collaborative research.
In February 27th, 2018, they also held the grand opening ceremony of the LO and Exchange Day of HU and held the ceremony to conclude the Cotutelle Program Agreement between HU Graduate School of Agriculture and KU Faculty of Agriculture in Bangkok city.
In this courtesy visit, a number of faculty members participated and exchanged opinions. First of all, Dean Yokota gave the participants his gratitude of thanks to have launched the LO, held the grand opening ceremony, and concluded the Cotutelle Program Agreement. Next, Dean Inoue gave the participants his gratitude of thanks to have held Exchange Day of HU. Then, Professor Yasuo Kobayashi as a person in charge of the LO explained using slide about exchange experiences with KU during our efforts to establish this LO.
In the Cotutelle Program, one student has already been accepted from KU at Prof. Kobayashi's laboratory, and it is hoped for bidirectional and multiple student exchange in the future. Furthermore, in order to make the Cotutelle Program productive, in March 2019, a faculty member of HU will visit again the LO and hold a seminar as "the Cotutelle Program promotion project in KU".
In addition, they explained that they have been running an English course at HU Graduate School of Agriculture for more than 20 years and that all education at Graduate School of Global Food Resources is provided in English, so we are preparing an environment that is easy to study abroad. Thus, student exchange and collaborative research will be expected more and more often between the both school.
